In September 2025, a new UA EduHub Greece space was opened in Athens. The center is part of the Ukrainian Educational Hub Network, a modern center for education, culture, and support for Ukrainians.
The new location is at ARTEMONOS 72, ATHINA.
“The opening of such centers, where Ukrainians can meet each other, is an important initiative. Especially those that allow children and adults to acquire new knowledge and skills or make up for educational losses,” said Ilona Gavronska, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity.
The following facilities are already in place:
- the Book Space library for reading and literary meetings,
- the Level Up and Art&Skill creative studios,
- classrooms for courses and training sessions,
- a space for Ukrainian community events, information sessions, and film screenings,
- a hall for sports and fitness activities.
New programs will be launched in the near future: dancing for children and teenagers, “Life Lessons” for young people, board games, yoga for women, courses for older people, creative workshops, online lectures, and regular film screenings in Ukrainian.
The founder and director of the Hub, Maria Ivanchenko, began the event with a personal story:
"On February 23, 2022, I was a happy teacher in Kyiv. The next day, I woke up to a world of full-scale invasion — with explosions, panic, and a road to nowhere. In Greece, I was looking for a foothold for myself, my children, and our community. And I found it in a common cause. That's how the idea of creating the Hub was born — a place where Ukrainians could feel at home. The Association for Innovative and Digital Education supported me in this endeavor, and now Ukrainians in Greece have their own territory, their own home."
Volunteers played a special role in creating the space, as they furnished the premises themselves: they painted the walls, moved furniture, and helped with the organization, Maria said.
The opening was also attended by representatives of the Ukrainian Embassy in Greece, partners, and friends of UA EduHub Greece.
Oleksandr Kravchenko, Consular Advisor at the Embassy of Ukraine in the Hellenic Republic, said:
"The opening of this Hub is proof of the strength of the Ukrainian community in Greece. Here we preserve our culture and build bridges of friendship between Ukraine and Greece. This is a place where young Ukrainians will learn, adults will find support, and together we can feel part of a large and strong Ukrainian family."
The event also featured the opening of a photo exhibition entitled “Ukrainian Prometheuses” by photographer Maksym Bilousov, who currently serves in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. His series of portraits of Ukrainian defenders symbolizes the fire of hope and reminds us that the opportunity to raise children in safety exists thanks to Ukrainian defenders.
“We have lost a lot. But we have found each other. And that is what makes us stronger. UA EduHub Greece is not just a building, it is our home in Greece. Together we will preserve Ukraine — in our hearts, in our thoughts, in our daily work,” concluded Maria Ivanchenko.
UA EduHub Greece encourages the community and partners to become part of it: support programs, share books, and help by setting an example.
People are the foundation of the Hub, which is why UA EduHub Greece is truly a place of new opportunities for every Ukrainian. 📱 https://t.me/UAeduhubGR
