On 1 August 2024, Oksen Lisovyi visited the Digital Learning Centre located in Mykolaiv Lyceum No. 38 named after Volodymyr Chaika, together with Oleksandr Tritly, Deputy Head of Mykolaiv Regional State Administration, and Alla Velikhovska, Head of the Department of Education and Science of the Regional State Administration.
With the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Association of Innovative and Digital Education, sixteen Digital Learning Centres (DLCs) have been opened in Kherson, Mykolaiv and Odesa regions, including 8 in Mykolaiv region. The Digital Learning Centres use the most advanced educational technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, Virtual Reality, Minecraft Education, Uber School and Flipped Classroom technologies, etc.
The purpose of the visit is to check the readiness of the region's educational institutions to create a safe educational environment for children to return to school in offline mode.
Oksen Lisovyi and the leadership of the Mykolaiv Regional State Administration checked the safety conditions created in the Digital Learning Centre, inspected the classrooms, made sure that the furniture, technical equipment of the centre, backup lighting, ventilation and accessible and enhanced Internet enabled the children of the community to study offline in a full and safe manner.
The centre's coordinators shared their results and plans for the centre's development. The children at the Digital Learning Centre said that they visit it to catch up on their education and to communicate with their peers.
