Three new Digital Learning Centres (DLCs) have been officially opened in Mykolaiv. They operate on the basis of educational institutions of the Mykolaiv City Council:
DLC 37 – Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 32 named after S.S. Kryvonosov;
DLC 40 – Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 50 named after G.L. Divina;
DLC 44 – Mykolaiv Gymnasium No. 26;
Thus, there are now six Digital Learning Centres in the city providing educational services to children with limited access to education.
The DLCs are coordinated by the Association for Innovative and Digital Education with the support of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the Mykolaiv City Council.
Digital Learning Centres (DLCs) – a response to the challenges of war
The mission of DLCs is to provide continuous, accessible and effective learning for schoolchildren who have lost access to offline education or have significant gaps in their knowledge due to the conditions of war.
At Digital Education Centres, students aged 6 to 18 can, free of charge:
Use Artificial Intelligence to determine which subjects and topics from the school curriculum require additional attention or complete mastery.
Learn through interactive case studies in innovative formats and apply flipped classroom technology.
Receive individual consultations to catch up on educational losses through the specialised Uber-School app.
Acquire the most sought-after skills through the Lessons for Life programme.
Learn effectively using the Minecraft Education game-based learning programme.
Assess your level of proficiency in Ukrainian and English and improve these skills.
Receive psychological and emotional support during difficult times.
Create a Skills Passport for 1,000+ modern professions using certified career guidance testing and determine your dream profession to build an individual learning and career path.
The DLCs are equipped with technology – personal laptops, interactive whiteboards, multifunctional devices, speakers, and new furniture.
Children can spend time at the centre in comfort and convenience, with qualified teachers and friendly coordinators providing assistance with their studies. The centres are filled with an atmosphere of mutual support, sincerity, and empathy. There are no grades here, but you can always ask questions and make requests, which will not go unnoticed.
Digital education centres are an opportunity for children and young people to resume their education, acquire new skills and shape their future, even in the most difficult circumstances. It is also an opportunity to communicate with peers and teachers offline.
